Reverse Osmosis (RO) Mineral Water Plant…… Dharmaj
Our past President and Secretary Shree Bhupendrabhai Ambalal Dhoribhai Patel had always had in his mind to provide a clean drinking water service for the people of Dharmaj. This was an idea that intended to help reduce the amount of water born diseases from unfiltered water and also create job opportunities for the local and surrounding areas.

His wish became a reality when Shree Natubhai & Kanubhai Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel’s family offered to donate the land that they had in the complex of Jalaram Jan-seva trust to build the R O Mineral Water Plant. Shree Bhupendrabhai’s family had then offered to pay for the cost of the R O Water Plant in a sum of £20,000 and put his proposal to the Dharmaj Society of London’s trustees for the cost of building - sum of £15,000 which the trustees agreed to if the committee was willing to collect the funds and pay back to the society’s account.

The decision of the trustees was passed to Shree Bhupendrabhai and with the help of Shree Dinubhai Raojibhai Patel, Late Shree Arvindbhai Rambhai Patel, Shree Rameshbhai Kashibhai Patel and Shree Manubhai Muljibhai Patel the plans were drawn up and the building work immediately started.

During this time the committee of DHASOL was offered and received the sum of £15,000 towards the cost of the building from Shree Anilbhai & Jayeshbhai Jashbhai Bhikhabhai Patel of Woolwich in London. The solar systems were donated by Shree Dilipbhai Manubhai Chhotabhai Patel of USA.

The Plant was completed in the time allocated and was officially opened by Shree Jashbhai Gordhanbhai Patel (Bapu) on 24th January 2007  and they started producing the 20 litre jars to begin with. The R.O Water Plant has the capacity to filter out 2000 litres of clean, water every hour. At present they are supplied to all of the residents in Dharmaj at a special and affordable price of 12 rupees per jar. We hope the plant will soon start producing the bottles and pouches for the general market.
